Accommodating...
The TranSafe™ Ramp and Winch System is able to accommodate ambulance cots of any width and for any make or model cot.
The ambulance service provider should always ensure that the ambulance cot is adequate for a patient’s weight.

(1) Set of ramps (the ramps are rated for a total combined patient and cot weight of 1200 pounds.)
(1) Transition plate (Included a pre-attached winch cable center roller and two stainless steel ramp mounting bars.
(1) Aluminum diamond-plate winch box

(2) Pull Slings - (The pull slings attach to the ambulance cots that are not factory equipped with a tow package.)

Easy Installation...
Any installers that are familiar with the installation of ambulance cot fastener systems, DC electrical powered accessories and safety standards pertaining to the installation and use of electrical accessories can install a TranSafe Ramp and Winch System.
Installers should be familiar will all regulations pertaining to the installation of such devices, i.e., EG Federal Ambulance Specifications KKK-A-1822C; Ambulance manufacturers division (ADM) standards.

5 Easy Steps...
In addition to watching the TranSafe instructional video (as seen at the top of the page) and attending in-service training, ambulance personnel should be prepared to do the following:
- Attach the transition plate to the back of the ambulance.
- Attach the winch box into the ambulance and fasten “quick-connects”.
- Drop the ramps into the transition plate located on the floor at the back of the ambulance.
There are 5 basic steps for EMS personnel using the TranSafe Ramp and Winch System.
1. Roll the cot to the ambulance in the lowest available position while maintaining good body mechanics.
2. Use available tow package accessories if necessary to secure the winch cable to the cot.
3. Line the cot up with the TranSafe Ramps and take the slack out of the winch line.
4. Keep the cot in line with the TranSafe ramps and guide the cot as it is pulled into the ambulance by the winch.
5. Once the cot is pulled into the ambulance, make sure it is secured into the lock down mechanism.
Installers should be prepared with fastener selections and tools that will allow modification of the installation guidelines contained herein. A recommended Supplies and Tools inventory list is available upon request.
